Volkswagen's Technology Move to China

Volkswagen has added a new deal to its Chinese partners. Thus, the influence of Volkswagen in China is growing.

Volkswagen, which acquired 5 percent by investing 700 million dollars in the Chinese technology and automobile company XPeng in the past weeks, is now in talks with a new Chinese company. Having reached an agreement with XPeng on automobile production, VW is preparing to launch a model they developed jointly in 2026.

Now, it has started negotiations to buy technology from another popular automobile brand, Leapmotor. Accordingly, Volkswagen wants to use a few technologies that it will purchase from Leapmotor for the Jetta, which is still on sale in China.

Wanting to increase its dominance in China as the VAG Group, VW bought technology from Audi and SAIC Motor last month.
